What you need to know about the world’s largest underground trampoline park

You come across an abandoned slate cavern that was once a mine in North Wales. What do you do with it? You string together some giant trampolines of course!

Bounce Below is one hell of an experience for anyone looking to seek thrills and embark on an adventure that’s so unique, we can almost guarantee you won’t find it anywhere else. You’ll find it deep underground in an old Welsh slate mine that sits at around twice the size of St Paul’s Cathedral, with three levels of giant trampolines and underground ziplines.

Bouncing fun in mid-air

The bonkers project came to life in 2014 after Zip World founder and CEO Sean Taylor came across a similar set of nets suspended in the woods in France, so naturally he thought, why not take this underground?

Five hundred tonnes of rubble had to be removed from the cavern space before the giant nets could be suspended, with the highest of them reaching 180ft. They’re all linked together by slides, tunnels, stairs, and suspended zip lines and lit up under colourful neon lights for a truly surreal experience.

Kids and big kids (aka, the adults) can run, bound, jump and fly around for an hour session, with nets set up to keep it safe and make sure no one bounces out.

Heading underground

Before going under, you’ll be in the best of hands with a safety briefing and a kit inclusive of a hard hat for protection.

The walk below winds through old mining tunnels and takes about 5 minutes before you hit the inside, where you’ll pick your jaw up off the floor as you take in a myriad of nets in the glow of neon light.

The netted walkway will be your first taste to get your balance and acclimatize, before zooming off into the underground net adventure. Mats are available to slide down the chutes, or you can opt to take the stairs around. Either way, you’ll be gasping for breath by the end.

But wait…there’s more!

After you bounce around for a bit, you can head into the open air to discover Titan 2 – an exhilarating four-person zip line with breathtaking views of the quarry. The tour also includes an in-depth tour of the historic location, twisting and turning through the Llechwedd slate quarry before traveling to the top and speeding back down to earth.
