Bushfire Relief: Travel Initiatives That Are Giving Back

Travelling and relaxing feels 10x better when you know you’ve also given back…

In the process of organising your next trip? Consider booking with, or heading to, these businesses who have all pledged to give back in the wake of Australia’s bushfire crisis.

While this isn’t a complete list we will continue to update as we discover more travel companies helping to aid bushfire relief.

AirAsia

The CEO of AirAsia, Tony Fernandes, has today announced that the company will be donating RM1 from every flight booking to Australia until the end of February.

If you’ve been thinking of a last-minute Bali getaway or a skiing sojourn to Japan, now is the time to book!

Marriott International

For the next 60 days, all Marriott International hotels will be giving guests the option to donate cash or Marriott Bonvoy points (which will be converted to cash) when they check out.

The raised funds will be donated directly to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery fund.

They’re also helping out our volunteer firies by donating room nights at their hotels across Australia, on presentation of their volunteer ID.

Marriott International brands include the Ritz-Carlton, W Hotels, Sheraton, Westin, Four Points and more.

COMO Treasury

20% of all proceeds raised from the brand new COMO Culinary Journeys initiative – which kicks off in February in Perth with a 5-day retreat – will be donated to WIRES. The first of the culinary journeys will offer hands-on cooking classes from Wildflower’s Head Chef Matthew Sartori and visiting chef Giovanni Luca Di Pirro, as well as four nights accommodation at COMO The Treasury, a 60-minute COMO Shambala massage, airport transfers and more.
