Western Australia’s seaside city Albany tops the list of trending Australian destinations.
Western Australia climbs to the top of the Airbnb trending charts with 3 south-west destinations in the Airbnb’s top 10.
To make the ‘so where next’ for your staycation decision easier, Airbnb has today unveiled its top trending destinations in Australia with Western Australia’s Albany coming in as a surprise winner.
Tucked far away into the corner of Australia’s South West, Albany is entrenched with ANZAC history, a spectacularly rugged coastline and character township. This coastal city also makes for a cosy winter escape so pass the mulled wine.

Susan Wheeldon, Airbnb’s Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand is excited about the response from Aussies since the ease of COVID-19 restrictions.
“What we’re seeing is that Aussies have been really keen to stretch their legs and get out and explore their own backyard. We know people are genuinely excited about travelling to nearby regions and revisiting their favourite holiday spots.”
Not to be out another Western Australia coastal destination – Busselton has come in at number 2.
With the feeling of a small city but a gateway to the renowned Margaret River region, it’s not hard to see why Busselton has seen a surge given it has the best of both worlds available to guests.
Obviously it’s not all Western Australia on the list with wine region Mudgee in New South Wales coming in at number 3.
Oh and that same Margaret River mentioned above came in at number 4.
Perhaps the trend that has emerged from this list is that Aussies are keen to stretch their legs where there is access to world-class wine and tasty local produce.
